The successful mass movements we see happening today and all throughout US history did not happen spontaneously. They took organizing, foresight, and a special kind of knowledge. The AdvocacyPublic Policy Leadership (APPL) Certification is an intensive program for high school and early/non-social science college youth. Students undertake four weeks of coursework on how to identify social issues and organize for them. They then apply what they learned through a four-week lab where they deliver an impactful project on a social issue, with the guidance of an experienced mentor. This certification gives you the tools to not just understand a problem, but to actually manifest change . It focuses on three dimensions of organizing: Theoretical: How do I identify problems in my community and society? Capabilities: What can I do to solve these problems? Mentality: How can I control my ego so I can make the right decisions? Pricing The price for the 8 week certification. This includes 3 weeks of instruction, 8 weeks of lab. An experienced-based learning opportunity where a group of students is mentored by a professional to develop an initiative on a societal issue . The student is able to apply what they learned in a real world setting, and making an actual impact in society . It is a 4 week lab, where students use project management to make their own initiative and roll it out. Over the years we have enabled hundreds of youth become more self-aware and empowered, making positive impacts on themselves, families and communities. We are a non-profit 501c(3) youth development organization founded in the State of Maryland in 2009/1430 to promote leadership development, education and research based on Islamic values and principles, through personalized experiential learning leadership programs. The organization serves both youth ages 9-25 and adults over 25 through leadership certification, coachingmentoring, community capacity building and internships. The organization services are open to all individuals regardless of their faith.
